THE LAW ACROSS COOKE COUNTY
Our sheriff brought several of his deputies to help him explain to us the dangers of fentanyl and how drug busts in Cooke County lead directly to the border. He talked about the jail, the challenges of dealing with mental illness in the jail population, and the desperate need for more and better facilities for criminals with serious mental illness. We also discussed issues regarding the Constitutional rights of Cooke County citizens.

Not quite a year ago, JoAnn Fleming brought the Texas Conservative Mamas Truth Tour to the fifth meeting of Cooke Conservatives. As one of five powerful speakers that night, JoAnn was not able to deliver the FULL FLEMING. But we asked, and she is returning to do just that. So, buckle your seat belts! One of the most well-known conservative activists in Texas is going to unleash the unfettered truth on Cooke County.
We are not allowed to video any of it. No recordings. Why? So this warrior woman can speak the truth without holding back. From the Tyler area, JoAnn is long known for conservative activism, the Tea Party, and now Grassroots America ~ We the People [GAWTP.com], which Texas Scorecard calls the largest, all-volunteer, 
grassroots organization in the state (and maybe further).
PLUS, also hear from Cooke County’s District 12 representative on the State Board of Education, PAM LITTLE
There are 15 districts in Texas for the State Board of Education. Currently, there are 9 Republicans and 6 Democrats on the Board. We hope to increase the conservatives in November. [We did!]
With redistricting, Cooke County became part of the new District 12 stretching east to Louisiana. See the district here on Pam Little’s website. Prior to redistricting, our representative was Jay Johnson, a good, solid conservative. Now, Pam is our SBOE representative in Austin. She is the Vice Chair and a strong voice for conservative values. See her priorities here.
Recently, there was great concern and protest over “inappropriate and unacceptable” drafts submitted as changes to the social studies curriculum for K-12. After many hours of hearings, Pam derailed the “woke” attempt with a motion to push back the issue to 2025. Five Democrats walked out, but Pam’s motion carried with a vote of 7 to 2. Come meet Pam and hear the story and a lot more straight from her.
The entire SBOE is on the ballot this November. PAM LITTLE is the Cooke Conservatives’ endorsed candidate on the ballot! [And she won!]

While Matt was in office as a state representative, he was consistently rated among the top two most conservative members of the House by Rice University, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, Young Conservatives of Texas and Texas Eagle Forum. He was, according to the Dallas Morning News, “instrumental in strengthening the punishments in the sanctuary cities ban.” Matt was elected Chairman of the Texas GOP when Col. Allen West resigned to run for Governor. Our outspoken party Chairman gave us an interesting evening of behind-the-scenes information, hopeful projections for the upcoming elections, and some really, really good stories of his time in the Capitol as a representative. AUGUST 27, Saturday morning, from 10 am to Noon, Texas State Senator Bob Hall brought the brand-new, powerful, disturbing, yet hopeful documentary of the grid-down scenario to Cooke Conservatives, at The Fold of Grand Avenue in Gainesville. This one-hour, Hollywood-quality movie is produced and directed by David Tice, known for his Prudent Bear Fund, which accurately predicted several financial crises, and for his uplifting, faith-based film, Soul Surfer. The Grid Down film was recently debuted at the July Freedom Fest in Las Vegas.
This is not just an “event.” This is a CALL TO ACTION, an ongoing battle to address the Grid vulnerabilities as soon as possible. Do we have enough time? No one knows.
